Let me introduce you to Eden, our playful beagle whose antics have sparked joy and creativity in my family's life. If you've ever watched a dog zoom around with pure glee or flop down with dramatic flair, you'll know just how much they can teach us about living in the moment. Inspired by Eden's boundless energy and silly escapades, we've crafted five hilarious family games that promise laughter and togetherness.
Sniffing Adventure--Also Known As "SEARCH"
Eden's nose is her guide to the world. Watching her sniff out hidden treasures is akin to watching a detective on an exciting case. For this game, hide treats or small toys around your home or yard. Keep Fido in another enclosed area while you do this. Once you've hidden the treasures, let your doggy out and simply say "Search"!. You may have to help your precious pup get the hang of this game. This will likely just take a few trials, especially for food/treat motivated canines.
Encourage everyone to get involved. Honestly, this game doesn't get old. Seriously. It's so much fun to watch Eden, nose to the ground.
Have someone corral the dog. Everyone else finds a hiding place throughout the house. Call out her name to give her a hint to search. (After you've played a few times, you likely won't have to even give a hint. Your precious pooch will know to start searching for the hoo-mans. A little reward at the end will also encourage her to keep looking!
Have family members sit in a circle, each with fists closed. One person will have the treat in a closed fist. As Fido sniffs a hand, open it up to reveal if there's a treat.
Incorporating these games into our family routine has transformed ordinary evenings into extraordinary bonding experiences filled with giggles galore thanks largely due to none other than Miss Eden herself—the beautiful beagle girl behind the shenanigans.
